What is Yoga Therapy?

“Yoga Therapy is the process of empowering individuals to progress toward improved health and well-being through the application of the philosophy and practice of yoga.”

- the International Association of Yoga Therapy

You are probably asking: “What does this mean?”

Simply this: how are things working for you right now?

Yoga Therapy offers an opportunity to look closely at what is not working for you and to adjust for harmony.

Adjusting through breath awareness, conscious movement, and honest communication, Yoga Therapy extends a hand to those places, pieces, emotions, memories in us that are not in step with the whole person so we can trust ourselves to move into the space of healing and living joyfully.

Physically, emotionally, mentally, socially, and spiritually we all have things out of place, things that are not working for us.

That is normal. Life happens.

However, it may not be your nature. A natural healthy mind and body are aligned. When we can walk through this world, full and abundant, we are able to serve others from that place.

Mentally, emotionally, physically, socially, spiritually: re-centering when something simply feels off-center.

In life, piece by piece we feel pulled out of alignment. We feel as though we are about to fall to pieces. Any moment could deem it all unstable, unable to hold it together any longer.

Yoga Therapy gives you the gift of finding serenity in the moment and the opportunity to seek healing for pieces of you pulled and pushed out of place.

Yoga Therapy connects the places that need space to slide into place. Your practice creates subtle shifts in the mind, body and spirit to bring you back to center.

This process is approached in small, manageable steps through breathing exercises, meditation, yoga and mindful movement.

Rediscovering you.
